WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Chelsey Wilson has been named the new Assistant AD for Compliance and Internal Operations for the Salem College Spirits. Wilson's main task is to be responsible for athletics compliance and day-to-day internal business operations.
"I am looking forward to working with a great group of coaches and administrators, and it is exciting to get back into college athletics and supporting the student-athletes strive to become the best," said Wilson. "I am thrilled to be part of the Salem College team."
Wilson comes to Salem College from Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, where she organized fundraising events to support the organization's mission. A graduate of Guilford College, Wilson was a recipient of The Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation award for her volunteer service work in the community.
Prior to the food bank, Wilson was the athletics business manager at Guilford College. While there, she managed budgets for 17 sports and five administrative units. She also worked several years at the Greensboro Sports Commission where she was a part of many major sporting events and championships hosted in Guilford County.
Director of Athletics Trish Hughes had this to say on the new hire, "We are thrilled to have Chelsey join our staff and know she will have a tremendous impact on our student athletes and the Salem Community. Her prior experience is the perfect blend to provide our staff strong leadership and guidance in her critical role in assisting us with our NCAA Compliance and business operations."
