Softball drops doubleheader at home against Piedmont

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College softball team dropped two games today to Piedmont College in Great South play. The Spirits kept it close through all 7 innings in a 3-0 loss in the first game. In the second game, the Lions broke it open early for a 13-1 victory. Salem falls to 4-8 in conference play and 8-19 overall.

In the first game, Abby Settles (Reidsville, NC) only gave up 3 runs off of 6 hits in seven games. Settles, Amber Miller (Mebane, NC), and Shelby Drummonds (Boone, NC) each had 1 of Salem's 3 hits.

The next game, Drummonds earned the loss on the mound. Brittany Head was the winning pitcher for both games for Piedmont. Drummonds and Settles each had 2 hits in the loss.

The Spirits play another Great South doubleheader on Saturday against Covenant at 1:00 and 3:00.
