Softball loses upset bid to Methodist 7-5

Fayetteville, NC-The Salem College softball team almost pulled off an upset against

amberfields
Methodist University tonight. The Spirits were up 4-0 in the sixth before Methodist scored 7 runs in the bottom of the sixth to steal a 7-5 win. The Spirits fall to 6-15 and Methodist improves to 19-6. 

Abby Settles (Reidsville, NC) gave up 9 hits and 7 runs in 6 innings for the loss on the mound. Settles was joined by Shelby Drummonds (Boone, NC), Amber Bass (Clinton, NC), and Breanna Griffin (Millers Creek, NC)to each pick up 1 of Salem's 4 hits.

The Spirits return to action this weekend, when they travel to Georgia to take on Spelman and Agnes Scott in 4 important Great South games.
