North Wilkesboro's Johnson commits to play softball at Salem

North Wilkesboro, NC-The Salem College softball team is pleased to announce that Michaela Johnson has committed and deposited to attend Salem next fall. Smith played softball for Coach Dwayne Berrier at North Wilkes High School in North Wilkesboro, NC. The Salem softball team finished the regular season in 3rd place in the Great South Athletic Conference.

Johnson earned four varsity letters for the Vikings, and she was also a scholar-athlete. She has played eight years of club softball for the Wilkes Diamonds, UC Xtreme, Alley Catz, and Piedmont Braves.

She was a Junior Marshall and Miss North High nominee at North Wilkes. Johnson was also a member of the Beta Club, Latin Club, and Dream Team. She is the daughter of Julie and Artie Johnson.

Salem College is a NCAA Division III institution located in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem is the oldest educational institution for women in the United States, and was founded in 1772. The institution boasts a proud history of fostering independence for women.
