Bowling commits to play softball at Salem

Fuquay-Varina, NC-The Salem College softball team is excited to announce that Logan Bowling has committed to play softball at Salem next fall. Bowling plays high school softball for Deborah Clarke at Fuquay-Varina High School. She also plays club softball for Jim Jones with Triangle Lightning. 

Bowling holds the FVHS record for most grand slams (3), and her team holds the school record for most home runs in one game (7). Bowling had two of those. She is tied for the North Carolina High School record for players with consecutive home runs in one game. She also participated in the Gatorade State Games this past year. She is a two-year letter winner. Her club won 1st-place at the NC USSSA Fall Smackdown in 2012, and the Summer Survivor Series in 2014.

Bowling has also excelled in the classroom. She is a member of the National Honors Society and the National Technical Honor Society. She is also a member of the FVHS Key Club and Medical Club. Bowling is the daughter of Sherri and Richard Bowling.

Salem College is a NCAA Division III institution located in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem is the oldest educational institution for women in the United States, and was founded in 1772. The institution boasts a proud history of fostering independence for women.
