Softball crushes Shenandoah twice

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College softball team's bats came alive against Shenandoah. They crusied to a 7-2 victory in game one and an 11-1 victory in game two. Brianna Morris and Lauryn Smith each earned wins on the mound. Salem improved to 3-3-2 overall, while Shenandoah fell to 0-2.

Morris was on the mound in game one. She pitched all 7 innings and only allowed 2 runs on 6 hits. Bre Crumley went 3 for 4 with 2 runs batted in to lead the Spirits. Maggie Fritts went 2 for 4 and Morris had 2 runs. Crumley and Morris each hit a double.

In game two, Salem scored 7 runs in the bottom of the fourth to win by the run-rule. Lauryn Smith pitched all 5 innings. She only allowed 1 run on 5 hits. Hannah Ogle went 2 for 3 and hit a home-run. She had 3 runs batted in. Crumley had another big game as she went 2 for 3 with 2 runs and 2 runs batted in. Montana Lineberger scored 2 runs.

The Spirits will play on Tuesday at home against NC Wesleyan.
