Crumley selected as GSAC Softball Player of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Great South Athletic Conference announced the softball Player and Pitcher of the Week for all games played through March 2 – March 8 and, following voting by the league sports information directors, Salem's Briana Crumley captured the Player award while Wesleyan's Valerie Clower won the Pitching honor

GSAC Softball Player of the Week – Briana Crumley of Salem
Crumley, a first-year, went 8-for-15 at the plate batting .533 in four games. She had 15 at bats, including 3 doubles, 5 singles, and scoring 5 runs and delivering 6 RBI's. Crumley's slugging percentage was .733 for the weekend and she had an .538 on-base percentage in accounting for 11 runs on the weekend. She was also just as spectacular in the field with 44 putouts, 1 assist, no errors and 2 double plays turned.  

 

GSAC Softball Player of the Week – Valerie Clower
Freshman pitcher Valerie Clower pitched back-to-back one hitters for Wesleyan College on March 1 and March 2 in the Clermont Tournament in Clermont, Fla. to earn her first collegiate wins. She pitched seven innings against SUNY-Potsdam, striking out seven batters in a 5-0 win, and returned to the circle the following day to shut out Immaculata University 8-0 in five innings with five strikeouts. She faced only 40 batters in the two games, being extremely efficient during her work in the circle.
