Softball loses twice at Maryville

Maryville, TN-The Salem College softball team dropped two road games at Maryville today. The Scots won the first game 4-2 and the second game 8-2. Brianna Morris and Bre Crumley each had 3 hits for the day for Salem. The Spirits fall to 7-9-2, while Maryville improves to 7-11. 

Lauryn Smith pitched the first game and gave 4 runs on 9 hits in 6 innings. Salem out-hit Maryville 10-9 in the game. Crumley and Smith each had 2 hits in the game. Crumley hit a double. Kierston Garner and Maggie Fritts each had 1 run batted in.

Morris pitched 5.2 innings and gave up 7 runs on 10 hits. Morris had 2 hits and a run batted in. Montana Lineberger had the other run batted in, while Garner hit a double. 

The Spirits return home to take on William Peace and Greensboro on Tuesday and Wednesday.
