Softball splits at rival Agnes Scott

Decatur, GA-The Salem College softball team split with their Great South rivals from Agnes Scott today. Salem stormed to a 6-1 win in the first game, before the Scotties won 7-3 in game two. Britani Peterson, Bre Crumley, Brianna Morris, and Maggie Fritts all had 3 hits for the day. Salem moves to 1-1 in the GSAC and 15-11-2 overall, while the Scotties go to 3-3 and 7-21. 

Lauryn Smith earned the win in game one. She pitched 10 total innings for the day and gave up 6 runs on 9 hits. Morris pitched 3 innings and gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. The Spirits had a 24-13 hit advantage for the day.

Peterson blasted a home-run in the first game. Kierston Garner, Kayla Kennedy, and Fritts all had doubles. Crumley hit a homer in the second game.

Peterson led the team with 4 runs batted in for the day. Garner had 3 runs batted in. Peterson, Morris, and Amber Bass all scored twice.

The Spirits will carry on with Great South action tomorrow at Wesleyan in Macon, GA.
