Softball celebrates Kennedy and Bass this week

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College softball team celebrated two four-year letter winning seniors this past weekend. Amber Bass and Kayla Kennedy were honored prior to the Spirits sweeping Wesleyan in the final home games of the 2015 season for Salem. Bass and Kennedy are a part of the first recruiting class in Salem softball varsity history.

Bass is a two sport student-athlete from Clayton, NC. She played shortstop for her first three years, and is currently starting at second base. She has a career batting average of .301 with 88 hits, 15 doubles, 1 triple and 2 home runs. She is majoring in Education and plans to be a teacher.

Kennedy is from Goldsboro, NC. She is a member of both the Student-Athlete Advisory Council and Student Government Association at Salem. She is currently a starting outfielder, but she has played ever position during her time at Salem. She has a career batting average of .383 with 105 hits, 14 doubles, 5 triples, and 5 home runs. She is majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in coaching. She wants to teach physical education and coach.
