Softball splits with NC Wesleyan in non-conference action

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College softball team split two home games with NC Wesleyan. They won game one 5-1, and the Bishops took the second game 13-2. Brianna Morris won the first game as she allowed just 1 run on 8 hits. Salem is now 22-13 overall, and NC Wesleyan is 16-16.

Salem jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 3 innings, and added 2 more in the 5th to take a 5-0 lead in game one. Briana Crumley hit a 2 run home-run. Montana Lineberger and Breanna Herman each had doubles.

Brittany Morton took the loss in the second game. Jenna Van Horn and Katie Bilbrey each had runs batted in for the Spirits.

Salem will host Covenant tomorrow in USA South West Division play. The Spirits are currently tied for first in the division with Piedmont. Each team hosts Maryville and Covenant over the next four days.
