Softball Drops Two To Pfeiffer

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College softball team dropped two games to Pfeiffer in non-conference action tonight. Pfeiffer won 6-3 and 10-3. Brianna Morris and Miranda Barker each had 3 hits for the day. Salem is now 10-8, while Pfeiffer improves to 16-2.

Pfeiffer was able to jump out to a 6-0 lead in game 1, before Salem made in interesting with 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th. The Falcons took a 7-0 lead in game 2, before the two teams each scored 3 runs over the last 2.5 innings. All 4 Salem pitchers saw action. Kayla Ogle had the best day on the mound as she allowed 0 earned runs in 3.2 innings.

Ogle and Samantha Smith each had 2 runs batted in for the day. Smith blasted a 2 run home run in game 2. Morris and Stephanie Galioto each hit doubles in game 2.

Salem will return to USA South action on Saturday at home against Meredith.
