Amanda Dacunto Represents Salem College, USA South at NCAA Convention

Junior infielder, Amanda Dacunto, was awarded an opportunity to attend the 2019 NCAA Convention in Orlando, Florida.  Dacunto represented Salem College as part of an initiative that the USA South Conference selects a student-athlete from each member institution to discuss and learn about current issues regarding Division III sports.

Asked to express her thoughts on this experience, Dacunto stated, "I feel very honored that I was given the opportunity to represent Salem College and the USA South at the NCAA Convention in Orlando. I had the chance to meet inspirational current and former students athletes. I have always loved absorbing wisdom from others and the convention allowed me to be exposed to some of the most influential athletic figures in the NCAA. While learning how the NCAA works behind the scenes to enact change, I also learned a lot about myself on this trip. We went to a seminar where I learned about my strengths and potential limiters and how I can use these tools to hopefully become a better leader on and off the field. I had so much fun getting to know each of the SAAC representatives from each of the schools in our conference. I feel like I have a friend at each college now ready to cheer me on at games, even if I'm going to see some of them on the field. The opportunities, networking, and friendships that I made at the NCAA convention are some of which I will cherish forever."
