GAME NOTES

  • In game one Salem could not get things rolling at the plate until the bottom of the six. First-year Brianne Coleman doubled to center field to bring in Amanda Dacunto for Salem's lone run.
  • Defensively Salem held Huntingdon to only two runs to finish out game one.
  • First-year Brianne Coleman, with two outs and two runners on, sailed the ball out over left field for her second collegiate home run in the bottom of the first. Starting Salem off strong in game two.
  • Breanna Herman doubled out to left field to bring in Katie Bilbrey for another run. Trying to strike a spark in the Salem offense.
  • Salem struggled throughout game two to execute plays defensively and found themselves in a whole, unable to dig their way out. 


THE SHORT STORY

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. —The Huntingdon Lady Hawks swept the Salem Spirits softball team 2-1 and 12-4 in a doubleheader Saturday.

In game one Salem could not get things rolling at the plate until the bottom of the six, when first-year Brianne Coleman doubled to center field to bring in Amanda Dacunto for Salem's lone run.

Salem struggled throughout game two to execute plays defensively and found themselves in a hole, unable to dig their way out.

The Salem Spirits will be at home Sunday, March 17th for their next doubleheader at noon and 2:00 pm against Agnes Scott.
