Spirits Split First Two Games in Best-of-Three Series With Greensboro

WINSTON-SALEM, NC — The Salem College softball team split the opening two games in a best-of-three series with Greensboro College Thursday to open the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament.
 
The Spirits bounced back after a 2-1 loss in the first game, taking game two in nine innings with a final score of 3-2.
 
In game one, Greensboro maintained a two-run lead until the seventh inning when the Spirits got on the board. 
 
Greensboro carried that momentum into game two with runs in the first and third quarter, but the Spirits were able to tie the game in the seventh before sealing the win in the ninth.
 
The Spirits and the Pride will play the deciding game of the series at noon Saturday.

The victor will advance to the conference tournament in LaGrange, Ga.
