Greensboro, NC- The Salem College basketball team traveled thirty minutes east to play Guilford College in a non-conference basketball game Monday evening. Guilford exploded with 50 points in the first half as Tracy Croner scored 16 points. Salem played Guilford almost even in the second half; however the Quakers cruised to a 92-68 victory.
Michala Michaux (So, Morganton, NC) scored 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead the Spirits. Courtney Sauer (FY, Carthage, NC) scored a collegiate high 17 points and secured 5 rebounds. Jazmine Gilbert (FY, Fayetteville, NC) added 15 points and 7 rebounds.
Tracey Croner led Guilford (6-1) with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Ann Seufer scored 18 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Salem College (1-7) will return to action Wednesday evening as they host Peace College at 7 pm.
