Emory, VA- The Salem College Basketball Team traveled to southwest Virginia to play the Wasps of Emory & Henry College in a non-conference game. The Spirits were plagued with their worst shooting night of the season, shooting only 19.7% for the entire game. The Wasps hit four 3-pointers and scored on numerous fast breaks as they led at half time 31-22. The second half saw the Wasps hit four more 3-pointers and continue to pull away, eventually winning 73-48.

The Spirits (6-14) were led in scoring by Jasmine Glenn (So, Winston-Salem, NC) and Casey Jones (So, Winston-Salem, NC) with 10 points each. Shakila Springs (So, Winston-Salem, NC) and Jones led the Spirits with 12 rebounds each.

Emory & Henry College (5-10) was led by Brittany Rogers (18 pts) and Sarah Petty (11 rebs).

The Spirits will return to action on February 5 as they host Piedmont Baptist College at 7 pm.
