Decatur, GA-The Salem College basketball team improved to 3-1 in the Great South with a 62-53 win at Spelman.  Jasmine Shabazz (Buffalo, NY) continued her hot play with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Salem improves to 9-8 overall with the win, and the Jaguars fall to 2-14. 

Salem led for the majority of the game. The 1st half was tight with Salem taking a 32-30 advantage into the break. The Spirits went on a 9-0 run to start the 2nd half and never looked back.

Zy Henderson (Inman, SC) had her best game of the season for Salem with 17 points and 4 steals.The Spirits held a 42-31 rebound advantage and a 12-2 advantage in the steal column. 

The Spirits return to action on Tuesday when they host Bennett in a non-conference game at 7:00.
