Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team celebrated its four 

bballteam
seniors with a 111-34 win against Bennett to sweep the season series. LaSashia Connelly (Morganton, NC), Jasmine Shabazz (Buffalo, NY), Satavia Taylor (Chicago, IL), and Tiffany Wildgoose (Nassau, Bahamas) were all honored at half-time for their distinguished career. The team tied the program's season best 17 wins to improve to 17-4, and Bennett falls to 3-13. 

The game was never close throughout as Salem jumped out early and never let up on the visitors. The Spirits had a 59-18 advantage at the break. They continued their hot-shooting in the second half. 

Salem shot 53.6% from the field in the game and 57.9% from behind the three-point line for some of their best numbers of the season. They forced 30 turnovers on 21 steals, and they held a dominating 55-22 advantage on the boards.

Taylor was on fire from the field. She went 10-12 from the field and 5-7 from behind the three-point line for 29 points. Shabazz had a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Connelly and Shabazz led the team with 4 steals each, and Connelly had a game-high 6 assists. Wildgoose finished the game with 5 points and 3 rebounds. Alexihonna Bush (Fayetteville, NC) had her best game of her career with 15 points and 7 rebounds. 

Salem concludes their regular season with two road games against Great South foes this weekend. They travel to Agnes Scott on Saturday and Wesleyan on Sunday as they try to stay undefeated in GSAC play.
