Basketball gets revenge on Greensboro with 60-59 win

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team picked up a huge 60-59 win at home against Greensboro College. Bria Patterson (Winterhaven, FL) was clutch throughout the game and finished with 14 points and 3 steals. Salem improves to 5-3 on the season.

In the first game of the season for both teams, Greensboro defeated Salem 91-76 in Greensboro. Salem jumped out early today and held a 40-26 advantage at the break. Greensboro slowly chipped away at Salem's lead and they held a two-point advantage at the end of the game, when Patterson drained a huge three-pointer to seal the win for Salem. 

The Spirits held a 38-34 rebounding advantage. LaSashia Connelly (Morganton, NC) had a fantastic first-half where she scored all of her 15 points. She was 4-6 from behind the three-point line in the game, while Patterson was 3-4. Satavia Taylor (Chicago, IL) had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jasmine Shabazz (Buffalo, NY) finished with 10 points and 9 rebounds for Salem.

The Spirits have one more game in 2013, when they travel to Roanoke to take on Hollins on Tuesday.
