Basketball sweeps Peace with 30 point win

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team scored early and often in a 79-49 rout of William Peace University in their first home game of the season. Satavia Taylor (Chicago, IL) finished with an impressive double-double of 35 points and 12 rebounds. Salem moves to 2-3 and Peace falls to 0-4. 

The Spirits led 15-8 with 12:59 left in the first half and then they went on a 20-4 run over the next 7:29 to break the game wide open. Salem went into half with an overwhelming 47-23 advantage. 

Peace could never get closer than 21 points in the second half. Salem held as large as a 34 point advantage. 

Taylor had 27 points in the first-half, and she outscored Peace by four points on her own in that half. She also finished the game with 3 blocks. Bria Patterson (Lakeland, FL) had 8 points and 8 assists for Salem. Zy Henderson (Spartanburg, SC) led the team with 4 steals.

Salem returns home on Wednesday night when they host Barber Scotia at 7:00.
