Basketball wins fourth game in a row

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team won their fourth game in a row with a 71-53 victory against Johnson University of Tennessee. Quantashea Lewis (Hartford, CT) led the Spirits with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Salem improves to 4-3 with the win.

The Spirits held a double-digit lead for most of the game. Johnson was able to cut it to 40-32 at the half. Johnson was never able to get within ten in the second half. 

Salem held a commanding 50-12 advantage in the paint. The Spirits also forced 24 turnovers and had a 49-24 rebounding advantage.

Jasmine Shabazz (Buffalo, NY) scored 16 points, and Satavia Taylor (Chicago, IL) finished with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Lewis and Zy Henderson (Spartanburg, SC) each had 5 steals to lead the Spirits, and Bria Patterson (Winterhaven, FL) finished with 5 assists. 

Salem will try to get revenge on Greensboro College tomorrow at 2:00 in the Salem Gym. Greensboro beat the Spirits in the first game of the season for both teams.
