Spirit of Perfection: Taylor Dominates in Basketball's 10th Straight Victory

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Satavia Taylor paced the Spirits with a game-high 36 points in Salem College’s 95-35 Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) win over visiting Agnes Scott College Saturday.

Salem (10-3, 1-0 GSAC) forced 41 turnovers in the contest. Taylor was not only dominant on offense, but also had a game-high eight steals. Zykeya Henderson stole seven. The Spirits also dominated the boards, as they out-rebounded their opponents 52-31.

Jasmine Shabazz had 17 points, a game-high 11 rebounds and four steals. Quantashea Lewis scored 16 points, was 6-for-7 from the free-throw line and grabbed 10 boards. Henderson added 13 points and was 2-for-2 from beyond the arc.

Janell McKinney led Agnes Scott (0-9, 0-1 GSAC) with 13 points. Breonca Hackney and Kelcie Evans added seven apiece. Morgan Cooper led the Scotties’ defensive charge with eight rebounds.

The Spirits next play home Tuesday, January 14 in the Spirit Center when they host Washington Adventist University.
