Satavia Taylor Selected as GSAC Basketball Player of the Week for 2nd Time

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Great South Athletic Conference has announced the women's basketball Player of the Week for games played December 9 - 15 and, following voting by the league's sports information directors, Satavia Taylor of Salem won her second award of the season.

 

GSAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Satavia Taylor of Salem

Satavia Taylor of Chicago scored 20 of her game high 28 points in the second half to push Salem to a 75-49 over ODAC opponent Hollins University. Weak and feeble, Taylor was battling the flu as Salem was only up 34-28 at halftime. Taylor pushed through with in the second half, ending with 28 points, 10 rebounds,1 assist, 2 steals and 5 blocks.

 

The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning. The next Women's Basketball Player of the Week announcement will be January on January 8, 2014.
