Bridgewater too much for basketball

Bridgewater, VA-The Bridgewater basketball team was too much for Salem today in Virginia. The Eagles defeated the Spirits 87-46. Salem was led by double-doubles by both Kristal Lollis and Quantashea Lewis. Salem falls to 1-8, while the Eagles improve to 5-5.

The game was tight 5 minutes in with the Eagles only holding a 12-10 advantage. At 11:43 remaining in the first-half, Lewis cut the lead to 20-16 with a layup. Over the next 8 minutes, Bridgewater went on a 27-7 run to open up the game. They would go into the half with a 53-29 lead. Bridgewater went on a 19-7 run to start the 2nd half.

Lewis finished with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Lollis finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Zykeya Henderson led the team with 8 steals and 3 assists. All 5 starters for the Eagles scored double-digit points.

Salem returns to the road on Tuesday to take on Virginia Wesleyan.
