Lewis named GSAC Player of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Great South Athletic Conference announced the women's basketball Player of the Week for all games played January 5 – 11 and, following voting by the league sports information directors, Salem's Quntashea Lewis captured the weekly award

Lewis, a junior from Hartford, Conn., pulled down a total of 46 rebounds in three games, including 24 rebounds in the Spirits conference win against Agnes Scott on Saturday, January 10. In the last three contests for the Spirits, Lewis posted two double-double's in points and rebounds. Against Bridgewater she notched 14 rebounds and 11 points, and against Agnes Scott she tallied 24 rebounds and 10 points. She is currently ranked 4th in the GSAC for points per game at 13.9, fourth in rebounds per game with 9.8, and fourth in field goal percentage at 46.1. 

 

 

The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
