Lewis wins her second GSAC Basketball Player of the Week Award

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Great South Athletic Conference announced the women's basketball Player of the Week for all games played February 16 - 22 and, following voting by the league sports information directors, Salem's Quntashea Lewis captured the award for the second time this season.

Quntashea Lewis of Salem
Salem boasted two conference road wins to end their regular season play this past weekend and Quntashea Lewis led the team in both games against Agnes Scott College and Wesleyan College with 25 and 23 points. She shot 53% from the floor going 18-of-34 and added an additional 21 rebounds combined for the two games.  Not only is scoring one of her strengths, but her defensive capabilities led her to 5 steals against Agnes Scott and 4 steals against Wesleyan, earning her the player with the highest steals in both games combined.

The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
