Lewis wins second GSAC Player of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Great South Athletic Conference announced the Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played November 30 – December 6 and, after voting by the league sports information directors, Salem's Quntashea Lewis captured the weekly honor for the second time this season.

Earning her 5th double-double for the season, Quntashea Lewis has been the ultimate factor for the Salem Spirits. In their first game back from break, the Spirits fells to ODAC foe Lynchburg College, with Lewis earning 16 points, pulling down 5 boards, and dishing out 3 assists. She turned her game around following the loss to Lynchburg, as the Spirits hosted Piedmont College. This double-double consisted of an astonishing 27 points and 19 rebounds. Seven of her 19 rebounds came from the offensive end while she went 5-of-6 from the stripe (83%), and pulled away 4 steals. 

 

 

The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
