Basketball drops close game with Greensboro

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team had four players in double-digits, but they fell 72-63 to Greensboro. Quntashea Lewis led the way 23 points. Salem falls to 2-7, while Greensboro improves to 2-7.

The game got off to a slow start before both teams picked it up in the second quarter. Greensboro held a 38-25 lead at the half. Salem had one of their top quarters of the season in the third quarter. They outscored the Pride 25-11 in the quarter to take a 50-49 lead after three. Greensboro hit some clutch free-throws down the stretch to pull away for the win.

Sabrina Shepherd had a strong night before she left with an injury. She finished with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Mikayla Seivers continued her hot play with 10 points and a game-high 8 assists and 3 steals. Lewis also finished with 3 steals. Laramie Miller had her second straight strong game with 13 points.

Salem will break until December 29th when they play Hanover at Piedmont.
