Basketball struggles on road against Hanover

Demorest, GA-The Salem College basketball team fell against Hanover in the first-round of the Piedmont College Cancer Awareness Tournament in Georgia. Salem played with just six players in the 90-40 loss. Quntashea Lewis finished with a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds. The Spirits fall to 2-8, while Hanover improves to 5-4.

Playing in their first game in over two weeks, it took Salem a while to get going. They fell behind early and Hanover held a 52-10 lead at the half. The Spirits had a much better second half, including scoring just as many points as Hanover in the fourth quarter.

Mikayla Seivers had 9 points and Aaliyah Webb finished with 2 steals to lead the Spirits. Salem will play Centre tomorrow in the consolation game of the tournament at 3:00. Centre fell against Piedmont tonight.
