Salem loses back and forth game with William Peace

Winston-Salem, NC-The William Peace Pacers defeated Salem in basketball by four points for the second time this season. Quntashea Lewis was all over the place for Salem with another double-double. Salem falls to 2-11, while Peace improves to 5-5. 

The game got off to a slow start. Peace pulled out to a 14-5 lead after the first 10 minutes. Salem fought back with a strong second period to cut the lead to 26-22 at the half. The Spirits cut the lead to just three after three quarters. The fourth quarter saw the two teams go back and forth throughout, until Peace was able to pull away with free-throws at the end.

There were a total of 55 free throws taken by both teams in the game. Salem held a 45-34 advantage on the boards. 

Lewis was unstoppable on the boards as she pulled down 20 rebounds. She added 24 points and 4 steals. Mikayla Seivers led the Spirits with 5 assists. 

The Spirits start their Great South action on Saturday, when they host rival Agnes Scott at 2:00.
