Lewis scores 1,000th career point in win

Winston-Salem, NC-Quntashea Lewis became the third player in Salem history to score 1,000 career points in a 71-67 win against Mary Baldwin. Salem fought back from a 15 point first half deficit for the win. Lewis led the game with 26 points and a massive 19 rebounds. Salem improves to 5-15, while Mary Baldwin falls to 0-20.

Mary Baldwin came out quick and jumped out to a 24-12 lead after one quarter. Salem cut the lead to nine at the half after falling behind by 15 midway through the quarter. Salem turned the game around with a 12-1 run to start the second half. They extended their lead to 55-53 after three quarters. Salem sunk key free-throws down the stretch to pick up the win.

Sabrina Shepherd was hot to start the game and finished with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Aaliyah Webb and Lewis led the team with 3 steals, while Seivers led the team with 4 assists. Salem was dominant on the boards with a 51-37 advantage.

Lewis joins Kelsey Rector and Satavia Taylor in the 1,000 point club at Salem. The Spirits hit the road for the rest of the regular season, starting with a game at Washington Adventist this weekend.
