Lewis wins 4th GSAC Player of the Week

ATLANTA - The Great South Athletic Conference announced the women's basketball Player of the Week for games played February 1 - 7 and, after voting by the league sports information directors, Quntashea Lewis of Salem won the award for excellence on the hard wood for the fourth time this season.

GSAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week – Quntashea Lewis of Salem 

Quntashea Lewis achieved two double-doubles for the week as the Spirits went 1-1 against Warren Wilson and conference opponent Wesleyan. This marks 12 double-double games on the season for Lewis. In the Spirits first match-up against Warren Wilson, Lewis scored 22 points, going 10-of-19 from the floor at 52.6%. She also grabbed 15 boards, 9 of which were on the offensive end, and added 2 steals to her performance. On her senior day against conference opponent Wesleyan, Lewis scored 21 points shooting 7-of-20 from the floor, and pulled down 15 rebounds. Barely missing a triple double,  Lewis dished out 8 assists to pad up her stat line in pulling the Spirits to 2-0 in regular season conference action.

The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
