Basketball loses low-scoring affair

Takoma Park, MD-The Salem College basketball team traveled to Maryland and fell just short to Washington Adventist, 54-51. The Spirits were led by Quntashea Lewis with a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. Salem falls to 5-16, while Adventist improves to 10-11 with the win.

Salem jumped out to a 15-13 lead after the first quarter. Adventist took a 30-26 lead into the half. The second half was a defensive battle. The two teams went back and forth the whole half, but Salem was only able to cut one-point off of Adventist's half-time lead.

Mikayla Seivers had 12 points and led the team with 4 assists. Lewis led the team with 3 steals. Laramie Miller hit three 3-pointers for 9 points. 

Salem will hit the road next week for two important Great South conference games at Agnes Scott and Wesleyan.
