Lewis selected as GSAC Player of the Week Again

ATLANTA - The Great South Athletic Conference announced the winter and spring sports Athletes of the Week for games played February 8 - 14 and, after voting by the league sports information directors, Quntashea Lewis of Salem won the award for Women's Basketball Player of the Week while Agnes Scott teammates Casey Arnold (player) and Molly Baker (pitcher) swept the first softball honors of the spring.

GSAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week – Quntashea Lewis of Salem 

Quntashea Lewis had another outstanding week as she earned her 13th and 14th double-doubles for the season. In the Spirits win against Mary Baldwin, Lewis scored 26 points and pulled down 19 rebounds; 8 of which were on the offensive end. She shot 10-of-22 from the floor and 6-of-10 from the foul line, adding 2 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block to her stat line for the evening. To add to the evening, Lewis scored her 1,000 point with 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter, becoming only the third Salem Spirit to score 1,000 points in her career. She turned around in the following game against Washington Adventist and scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. She was 100% from behind the arc going 2-2 from the three, and shooting 7-11 from the floor.  She took 15 trips to the foul line, had 3 steals, and 2 blocks to finish out the evening. Lewis averaged 25.5 points and 16 rebounds for the week while shooting a combined 52% from the floor.
