Basketball explodes early for win at Wesleyan

Macon, Ga-Quntashea Lewis had her most impressive game of the season as she scored 31 points and brought down a remarkable 28 rebounds in an 86-66 GSAC win at Wesleyan. The Spirits jumped out to a 26-10 lead and never looked back. They move to 3-0 in the GSAC and 6-16 overall, while Wesleyan falls to 0-4 and 2-17.

After their strong first quarter, Salem took a 45-33 lead into the half. Wesleyan was never able to get closer in the second half. The Spirits dominated on the boards with a 67-33 advantage.

Lewis also led the team with 6 assists and 3 steals. Mikayla Seivers had a great game with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Sabrina Shepherd added 13 points and Hannah McBride had 8 points, while Elizabeth Penley pulled down 9 rebounds.  

Salem will play Agnes Scott today at 2:00 as they try to win their second straight Great South Regular Season Title.
