June 29, 2016

The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) announced its selections for the 2015-16 College Division All-State Women's Basketball Team on Wednesday.  Nominees were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals.  NCCSIA members voted for the all-state teams.  Teams are selected for men and women in both the college and university (NCAA Division I) divisions.

The 10-member 2015-16 NCCSIA College Division Women's Basketball All-State Teams are represented by 10 different North Carolina Colleges and Universities.  First team honors went to Quntashea Lewis, of Salem, Kianna Wynn, of Barton, Arieal Johnson from the University of Mount Olive, Alisha Mobley, of Chowan University, and Anais Weatherly, of Guilford College.

Lewis earned Great South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year honors at Salem.  The senior topped the league in both scoring (20.7) and rebounding (13.1).  Lewis surpassed the 1,000-point plateau during the season and was a D3 Hoops All-South pick.

Winn was named the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year and first team all-conference for Barton.  She poured in 16 points a game, while grabbing 9.4 rebounds a contest.  Winn connected on 58.5% of her field goal attempts.

Johnson was a second team All-Southeast Region selection at Mount Olive after earning first team all-league honors.  The junior averaged a double-double of 14.4 points and 10.4 rebounds a game.  Johnson ranked third in NCAA II in blocked shots at 3.2 per contest.

Mobley led Chowan to a 20-win season, the best in program history, and its first NCAA Tournament appearance.  She averaged 16.4 points and game and 7.1 rebounds per outing.  Mobley tallied 1,219 career points and was a three-time all-conference selection.

Weatherly took home WBCA Division III honorable mention All-America honors after averaging 15 points and 9.5 rebounds a game with Guilford.  She led Guilford in most statistical categories and topped the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with 3.1 steals per game.  Weatherly helped the Quakers to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The second team consists of Vanderia Shackleford, of Johnson & Wales, Bri Johnson, of Catawba College, Ansley Ricker, of Mars Hill University, Sycoya Dorsey, of Saint Augustine's University, and Madison Lenox, of Brevard College.
