Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team defeated Wesleyan 69-59 for their third straight win. Sabrina Shepherd led the team with a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. The Spirits improve to 2-1 in the USA South and 5-8 overall.

Salem held a 15-12 lead after the first quarter, and the lead stayed the same as the Spirits had a 24-21 lead at the half. Salem extended the lead to 5 after three quarters, before they closed the door on the Wolves in the final quarter.

Shepherd drained all four made three-pointers for Salem. Mikayla Seivers had 11 points and Alexiahonna Bush had 10 rebounds for Salem. Hannah McBride led the team with 3 steals and with 7 assists.

Salem returns to the court this Wednesday as they hit the road to take on Maryville.
