Basketball loses against Piedmont at home

Winston-Salem, NC-The Piedmont Lions used a strong third quarter to pull away from Salem for a 93-66 win on the basketball court. Mikayla Seivers had a double-double of 22 points and 5 assists to lead Salem. The Spirits fall to 2-5 in the USA South and 5-12 overall, while Piedmont improves to 7-1 and 14-5. 

Piedmont jumped out to an 8 point 30-22 lead after the first quarter. The lead would stay the same going into the half with the Lions up 48-40. They went on a 27-9 run over the third period to break the game open.

Sabrina Shepherd had 16 points for Salem, while Shenique Pharr had 11 points. Hannah McBride led the team with 6 rebounds, while Alexiahonna Bush had 3 blocks.

The Spirits play 2 very important USA South road games this weekend at Agnes Scott and Wesleyan.
