Comeback Falls Just Short Against Randolph

Winston-Salem, NC-A second half rally came up just short for Salem College Basketball tonight as Randolph held on for a 63-57 win in non-conference action. Sabrina Shepherd led the Spirits with 23 points in the loss. Salem falls to 3-3, while Randolph improves to 3-3. 

The Spirits dropped behind 21-8 after the first quarter. Randolph would hold a double-digit lead throughout the second quarter and went into the break withh a 34-20 lead. Salem battled back in the third quarter to cut the lead to just three points. Salem was able to take a 52-51 lead before Randolph went on a 12-5 run to close out the game.

Mikayla Seivers added 14 points and Shenique Pharr had 15 points. Shepherd and Seivers each had 7 rebounds, and Hannah McBride led the team with 6 assists. Seivers had a team-high 5 steals in the game.

The Spirits will close out their 2017 action this weekend on the road at William Peace.
