Ferrum, VA-The Salem College basketball team could never get into an offensive flow against Ferrum and lost 64-42 in a USA South East Division game. Tamara Blanton led the team with 11 points. Salem falls to 4-10 overall and 2-5 in the USA South, while the Panthers improve to 7-7 and 6-0.
The game was close after a low scoring first quarter with the Panthers leading 12-10. They extended their lead to 10 at the half with a 29-19 lead. Ferrum held a 46- 30 lead going into the final quarter. Tyler Davenport had 9 points and Hannah McBride had 8 for Salem. Dominique Cross led the team with 6 rebounds.
The Spirits will stay in Virginia to take on Mary Baldwin tomorrow.
