Basketball Picks Up Important USA South Road Win

Rocky Mount, NC-The Salem College basketball team pickup up a very important USA South East Division win at NC Wesleyan. The Spirits avenged an earlier loss by cruising to the 84-71 road win. Sabrina Shepherd finished with a double-double of 32 points and 11 rebounds. The Spirits are now 6-10 overall and 4-5 in the USA South, while NC Wesleyan falls to 7-9 and 4-4.

Salem jumped out to a 19-10 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. They extended their lead to 37-26 at the half. The Bishops cut the lead to 51-48 after three quarters before Salem dropped 33 points in the final quarter.

Mikayla Seivers added 18 points and Tyler Davenport had 16 points for Salem. Davenport added 9 rebounds, and Seivers led the team with 5 steals.

Salem stays on the road tomorrow as they will try for the season sweep against Methodist.
