Fayetteville, NC-The Salem College basketball team picked up their third USA South East Division win in a row with a convincing 67-53 road win at Methodist. The Spirits completed the season sweep of the Monarchs. Four players scored in double-digits for the Spirits. Salem improves to 7-10 and 5-5 in the USA South, and Methodist falls to 2-15 and 2-6.
Salem held a 15-10 lead after the first quarter before Methodist closed the gap to 28-26 at the half. Salem extended the lead to 6 after the third quarter, and outscored Methodist 19-11 in the final quarter.
Sabrina Shepherd led the team with 15 points, followed by 12 by Hannah McBride, and 10 points for both Mikayla Seivers and Dominique Cross. Shepherd led the team on the boards with 7 rebounds, and McBride had a team-high 7 steals. Seivers had 5 assists for Salem.
The Spirits return home next weekend as they will host Mary Baldwin and Ferrum on Saturday and Sunday.
