Spirits Drop First Road Game of Season to Randolph College

Lynchburg, VA- Randolph College Wildcats jumped out to an early lead in the opening quarter of the non-conference contest against the Salem Spirits on Wednesday night. Salem fell in defeat by a final score of 59-76.  

Spirits showed a burst of fight in the 2nd half by cutting a 21 point deficit down to 10 points, but could get no closer than that. Three players for Salem scored in double figures, Tamara Blanton (11), Makalla Burnette (10), and Lauren Privette (10).

The basketball team travels to Pennsylvania this weekend to participate in the Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Washington & Jefferson College.  Salem will face Marietta College Friday at 6pm.
