Chaneice Moss has Career High 24 points Against Mary Baldwin

Staunton, VA- First Year player Chaniece Moss of Salem Spirits had a career high 24 points Sunday afternoon against the Fighting Squirrels of Mary Baldwin University.  Spirits hung tough early in the game, but were outmanned against their conference opponent and fell 58-75.  Senior Tamara Blanton displayed tenacity and leadership by contributing 15 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals on the day.

Coach Mohney, "In the first half Mary Baldwin came out shooting a very high percentage, as Brooke Anders went 4-5 from behind the arc.  Once we were able to make adjustments going in to the second period; we went on a run to get us back in the game.  I was pleased to see stand out games from both Senior Tamara Blanton who had her first season double-double and Chaniece Moss who scored a career high 26 points."

Mary Baldwin was led in scoring by Brooke Anders who scored 22 points.  She was followed by Leah Calhoun with 16 points and Nicole Blackburn had 12 points.

Salem continues their run on the road as the face the Methodist University Monarchs on Wednesday, February 6th at 7:00pm.  The Spirits defeated the Monarchs in their previous contest 78-66.
