Salem College wrapped up the 2021-22 athletic season with a banquet held in Bryant Hall on the Salem Campus on Thursday, April 28th, honoring 16 student-athletes for their contributions throughout the campaign.

The Salem basketball team returns to the hardwoods, facing a weekend clash with Meredith after a 17-day break in action. The Spirits open action with a home game against Meredith on Saturday, January 29th at 2 p.m., before making the trek to Raleigh, N.C. to face the Avenging Angels on Sunday.
The Salem basketball program has postponed its next three games, which are scheduled for January 22 (vs. Greensboro), January 23 (at Averett) and January 26 (at Southern Virginia). These aforementioned games will be rescheduled for a later date.
Since becoming an NCAA Division III member the Salem basketball team has earned 110 victories and made one appearance in the NCAA Tournament, which came in 2014.

Salem was led on offense by the combination of Sampson (14 points), Bass (12) and Brooks (11). Sampson took advantage of a 5-for-12 outing, knocking down a pair of 3-pointers along the way, while finishing a perfect 2-of-2 at the free throw line. She also snagged six rebounds, including two on the offensive glass.
The Salem basketball team begins a three-game homestand at Varsity Gym this weekend when it hosts William Peace and Methodist in consecutive games on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The clash with the Pacers is set for 6 p.m. on Friday and will be followed by a 4 p.m. meeting with the Monarchs on Saturday.
The Salem basketball team makes a brief return to Varsity Gym on Wednesday, December 29th, when it hosts Bridgewater at 6 p.m. Two days later, Salem will head to Greensboro to square off against Guilford, marking the final non-conference games of the season.
