WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Greensboro earned a wire-to-wire USA South Conference victory, highlighted by a 26-point outburst by Audrey Jennings, to stretch its winning streak to 15 games and kept its perfect record in league action intact with a 99-67 victory over Salem at Varsity Gym on Saturday, January 28th.

Salem's Alize Munn put together her third consecutive double-digit point outing, finishing with 21 points by virtue of an 8-of-17 outing from the floor and a 5-of-9 performance at the free throw line. Munn also led the Spirits in rebounds with nine, which equals her single-game season-high.

Minnie Griffin also topped the double-digit mark with 14 points, hitting 4-of-14 from the field and 5-of-6 at the charity stripe, eclipsing double figures for the fifth time in 2022-23 and the third time in as many games. Dionne Sampson rounded out double-digit scorers with 12 on the afternoon, forcing one steal along the way.

The Greensboro offense, which hit 52.1 percent from the floor in the contest (38-of-73), was lethal from the perimeter with a 10-of-26 (38.5%) outing from 3-point range. The Pride also converted 13-of-16 (81.3%) at the free throw line as a unit.

Jennings was one of five players in double figures for Greensboro, along with Karli Mason (17), Quadijah Moore (13), Aijah Palmore (13) and Lauren Livingston (12). Palmore notched a double-double in the contest with a game-high 13 rebounds.

FIRST QUARTER
The Pride established their offense early, running out to a 21-0 lead in the first 5:26 of the frame after connecting on four 3-pointers. Jennings led the way in the quarter with 11 points, knocking down 4-of-5 from the floor and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. As a unit, Greensboro closed the frame by converting 12-of-20 (60%) from the field, including a 5-of-9 (55.6%) outing from 3-point range. Munn broke the scoring drought for Salem with a free throw at the 4:16 mark and added the first bucket just under a minute later.

SECOND QUARTER
The hot shooting performance continued for Greensboro, which capped off the second quarter by finishing 11-of-18 (61.1%) from the floor, including three from long distance. The catalysts for the offensive attack were Jennings, who came through with nine, along with Mason, who accounted for eight points. Facing a 32-8 deficit entering the second, Griffin drove home a 3-pointer to open scoring for the Spirits. Greensboro scored seven of the next 12 points, stretching the margin to 39-16, before a series of jumpers from Sampson made for a 19-point advantage. The Pride closed out the final 5:38 of the quarter on a 21-7 run to take a 61-27 lead into the intermission.

THIRD QUARTER
Salem enjoyed its best shooting performance of the afternoon in the third quarter, hitting 12-of-19 (63.2%) from the floor, which included 10 points from Munn. Munn was successful on 5-of-10 from the field and also climbed the glass for four rebounds. Over a 10-minute stretch, Salem had a 10-0 run, including four points each from Munn and Griffin. That spurt trimmed the lead to 19, but Greensboro closed out the half with a layup by Ta'Keria Legette to lead 73-53.

FOURTH QUARTER
On three separate occasions in the first 3:11 of the fourth Salem pulled to within 18 points, the final coming by virtue of a jumper from Munn that resulted in a 78-60 lead, but Greensboro retaliated with a 13-1 run that was capped off by an Aliyah Whiteside layup, to assume the 91-60 lead. The Greensboro lead would remain at 30 throughout the final 3:07 of the contest.
