ROANOKE, Va.Alize Munn delivered not only her second double-double of the weekend, which resulted in 27 points and 10 rebounds, but was also the catalyst for the Salem basketball offense that posted a 74-54 win over Agnes Scott in the second day of action at the All-Women's Tip-Off Tournament in Roanoke, Va. That victory over the Scotties, which marked the fifth in Salem history, gave the Spirits a 3-0 start for the first time in program history.

Munn was in rhythm throughout the course of the game, hitting 12-of-16 from the floor and 3-of-4 at the free throw line. She also climbed the glass for 10 rebounds, including seven defensive, along with handing out three assists.

One of Salem's three double-digit scorers was Dionne Sampson, who contributed 14 points, five assists, four steals and three rebounds. Teammate Aliyah Corpening, who tallied 11 points, was also active with seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. The Salem starting five combined for 23 of the team's 29 total field goals and 59 points.

First Quarter
Facing a 12-9 deficit at the 5:50 mark of the first half, Nykerah Engle pulled the Spirits to within one with a pair of free throws. Just under two minutes later, Cree Bass followed with a layup to give Salem a 15-14 lead. Engle converted a layup of her own, stretching the margin to 21-16 before Sampson knifed through the lane to provide a seven-point lead, 23-16.

Second Quarter
Agnes Scott's Ivey Portis trimmed the margin to six with a series of free throws at the 6:11 mark, but Munn managed to help the Spirits stretch their lead to 30-22 with a layup on a pass from Corpening. Sampson followed with a layup of her own, with a dish from Munn, as the margin grew to 36-24. Ti'Erra Lee capped off first half scoring for the Spirits with a jump shot with 33 seconds remaining, resulting in a 39-27 lead.

Third Quarter
Munn converted a three-point play to open second half scoring for the Spirits, making for a 42-27 advantage. A brief run by the Scotties, capped off by a Laila Williams layup, trimmed the deficit to 47-35. However, Corpening and Sampson drove home two free throws apiece to push the margin back to 53-37. With the defense clamping down the Scotties for over a minute and a half, Sampson helped Salem assume a 55-37 lead. Salem closed the half by scoring nine of the final 16 points, including a Sampson layup with 22 seconds to take a 64-42 lead into the final frame.

Fourth Quarter
Both offensives struggled throughout the fourth quarter, combining for just 20 points in the process. Munn opened Salem scoring with a jumper, making for a 66-42 lead. Cristina Battistini converted a jumper for Salem and Munn provided a layup, stretching the advantage to 70-51. Each team only managed two points each in the final 4:04 of the contest to make for the 72-53 final.
