Lacrosse Concludes Inaugural Season Against Averett

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College lacrosse team started on fire in their last game of the season, but Averett was able to pull ahead midway through the first half and went on for the 18-8 win. The loss concludes Salem's inaugural lacrosse season. The team picked up the first win in school history against Sweet Briar and the first USA South win against NC Wesleyan. Salem finished with a 2-14 overall record.

Salem jumped out to a 3-1 lead wit goals by Allix Kean, Cecily Wainschel, and Madison McCarthy. Averett concluded the half with a 11-2 run. McCarthy scored the final 2 goals of the half for Salem. McCarthy scored 2 more in the 2nd half and Collette Vladimery scored 1 goal.

Hannah Ostlund finished with 14 saves. She led the team with 5 ground balls, while Kean, McCarthy, and Shayna Haith each had 3 ground balls. Vladimery also had 6 draw controls.
