THE GAME:
BREVARD, NC — The Spirits experienced a hard-fought USA South Conference loss, 10-5, to the Brevard Tornados at Ives-Leme Family Field on Sunday afternoon.
"The team played with determination, heart, and grit this weekend facing these two teams," Interim Head Coach Emma Rose said. "We will continue to put the pieces together and keep working hard for next week."
In the first half of the game, the Tornados took a 5-0 advantage before the Spirits stormed back. Thanks in large part to a hat trick by Collette Vladmimery, who scored three goals in the first five minutes of the second half, Salem made up tremendous ground — trailing by only one point 6-5.
But in the last eight minutes of the game, Brevard scored another four goals and secured its first conference victory of the year.

The Salem Spirits will return to action at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 facing Greensboro at home.
